Sherni is latest Hindi film which released online on OTT platform Amazon Prime on June 18, 2021. The screentime of this film is around 2 hours 10 minutes.

The story of this film is about a district forest officer Vidya Balan aka Vidya Vincent. She finds out that there is a new tigress in jungles of Bilaspur. She is known to all as T-12 and she has already killed two villagers from nearby villages. Vidya wants to save the tigress T-12 and want to relocate her to a newer destination. On the other hand, forest department hires a shooter Sharat Saxena aka Pintu to stop the menace of the tigress. Well, Vidya wants to save the tigress but Pintu wants to kill her. Sooner, it is being reported that T-12 delivers two babies and Vidya now wants to save them at any cost. Will Vidya able to rescue the T-12 and her babies is what the story is all about. There is more to the story, the politicians wants to sensationalize the matter in front of villagers for gaining votes. Dispute all the odds, Vidya tries to do her duty properly but still she couldn’t able to handle the situations due to pressure from upper department.
The overall message of this movie is about maintaining the balance between Humans encroachment by destroying jungles and saving the forest and their animals. This movie also stars Vijay Raaz aka Hassan Noorani, Brijendra Kala aka Bansal, Neeraj Kabi, Ila Arun and many more.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Amit Masurkar knows his craft really well and has proved again and again with Sulemani Keeda (2013) and Newton (2017). Now, Sherni is the new feather in the cap of the director. I must say thank you to the director for giving us much needed film. These are the films that Bollywood need to make and I am elated watching such a rooted film that shows nothing but reality. Now coming to Vidya Balan, I must praise her poignant performance. One thing we are sure that, neither she is happy in her marriage nor in her job. She is upset and frustrated from everything and that’s why she didn’t had a baby with her hasband. Her character portrayals are so good that she deserves an award for this too. Her conversations with Brijendra Kala, Vijay Raaz and Neeraj Kabi are treat to watch. Well, without a doubt we know there are two Sherni in the movie, one is T-12 tigress and Vidya Balan herself. Right from the cinematography, screenplay, locations, and casting, all are perfect. This is not a typical Bollywood masala film, it is more of a parallel cinema type film. What a pair of talented starcast, I absolutely loved it. The message of this film is serious and atleast people should understand it.
Sherni movie has been directed by Amit Masurkar. It has been produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, and Amit Masurkar. The cinematography of this movie has been done by Rakesh Haridas and editing work handled by Dipika Karla.
Sherni movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it would reportedly be around 20 to 25 crores.
Altogether, Sherni movie is a big hit on OTT space. Though, it wouldn’t have been a commercial success if it had released in cinema theaters.
