Actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee  best known for playing the role of ‘Gopi’ in long-running popular show Saath Nibhaana Saathiya has recently added a spiritual touch to her identity with a striking ‘Mahadev’ tattoo on her forearm  by celebrity tattoo artist Vikas Malani of BodyCanvas Tattoos. Inspired by her profound connection with Lord Shiva, the tattoo features elements such as the trishul, the third eye, the damru adorned with the Om symbol.

In Devoleena’s own words, “I personally feel like a kind of yogini of Mahadev. I’ve felt connected to Lord Shiva since childhood; it’s like a spiritual link that has been with me since birth. Wanting to represent this connection, I decided on a tattoo. It’s a personal sentiment for me. Even if nothing accompanies me after death, I know this tattoo will stay with me, always a part of my journey.”

Her connection with Lord Shiva prompted a thoughtful contemplation spanning 3-4 years to find the perfect representation of this spiritual bond. “I extensively searched on Pinterest and the internet. I specifically looked for images related to Yogini and Mahadev, and after much exploration, I found a picture featuring Yogini with Mahadev resembling Bhairav, in the background. But my intention was to convey that even without explicit mention or portrayal of Mahadev, people would understand that the tattoo is dedicated to Him.” she explained.

Devoleena further expressed, “I’ve known Vikas for about 12-13 years. If you choose Vikas for your tattoo, just share your vision, close your eyes, and trust him. He skillfully brings your ideas to life. All of my six tattoos that I am deeply connected with are done by him”.
