OMG 2 is one of the most awaited films of 2023 and it has finally released in theaters on August 11, 2023. The screen time of this comedy drama film is around 2 hours 36 minutes. This film has been certified as “A” rating by Indian Censor Board. So we are doing OMG 2 review for you.
Story: The story of this film revolves around Pankaj Tripathi aka Kanti Sharan Mudgal, who is a Lord Shiva devotee living a peaceful life in a small town in India. He has a wife, a young son and a daughter. One fine day, we see lightening struck in his life as his son hospitalized. Sooner, he realized that his son has caught doing mastrubation in a school toilet. Well, the video of his son doing that act has been viral on internet. This led the school terminate his son Vivek. The last option Kanti has is to remember God and leave the town as soon as possible. This is when Akshay Kumar as Lord Vishnu avatar arrives in his life as a common man. Will, Kanti fight for his son and give him justice is what this story is all about.
This film features Yami Gautam aka Kamini Maheshwari, Pavan Malhotra aka Judge Purushottam Nagar, Govind Namdev aka Pujari, Arun Govil aka School Principal, Brijendra Kala and many others.
The early reviews from special screening is out and many are rating this film in a range of 4 stars out of 5 stars. Main public reviews and word of mouth will take the film forward, most probably in positive way.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: I must say that after a long time, Akshay Kumar has done a good film which is strong in content. The research word is so deep that when it appears in the form of dialogues in screenplay, audience went amazed. The situational comedy done by Pankaj Tripathi, Pavan Malhotra and few others is something extraordinary. This film has a strong message on Sex Education, which is the need of the hour. The film also teaches about good touch and bad touch, which is an important topic to takedown. I must say, the film is focused on the troublesome life of a adolescent, and A certificate might not make this film reach to the right audience demographic. Still, I am sure whoever will watch this film will surely suggest other to go for it for its great content. The dialogues are superb and Pankaj Tripathi has said almost all the difficult dialogues with ease. Mr Tripathi is such an amazing actor that you don’t want to miss him for a second in this film. His body language speaks more than his words. Akshay as Lord Shiva avatar didn’t got much screen time in this film but it is still a good one. Even, Yami as lawyer is good here and it was great to see Pavan Malhotra in such a good role of judge. In sort, he got the same kind of screen time like he got in OMG (2012). The screenplay is so good that you don’t get bored at all. After a long time, I saw a film whose first half and second half both are equally entertaining. The editing work is also good. The cinematography is decent and I loved the entry shot of Akshay a lot. I must admit that, the Akshay Kumar’s shot just before the interval was amazing and I loved that. The music of this film is decent and there is hardly any songs. The production value is superb and I liked the whole setup of this film. In sort, a good film whose heart is there at the right place. There is lot of takeaway from this film and I must admit I loved the character Vivek in this movie.
This film has been written and directed by Amit Rai. It have been produced by Aruna Bhatia, Vipul D Shah, Rajesh Bahl, Ashwin Varde. The cinematography has been done by Amalendu Chaudhary and the editing has been handled by Suvir Nath. The musical score taken care by Vikram Montrose, Hansraj Raghuanshi, Sandesh Shandilya and others.
OMG 2 movie budget hasn’t been revealed yet but it could reportedly being around 68 to 70 crores maximum.
Altogether, OMG 2 is a must watch film in theaters only. As it got “A” rating, that means 18 age plus people can go and watch this film.
