Looop Lapeta is the latest Hindi film which has officially released on OTT platform Netflix on February 4, 2022. The screen time of this film is around 2 hours 11 minutes. This female centric film is the remake of Run Lola Run (1998) which was a famous German experimental film.
Story: The story of this film revolves around lovebirds Taapsee Pannu aka Savi and Tahir Raj Bhasin aka Satya. Tahir is a gambler and wants to take shortcut in life to earn big money. On the other hand, Savi wants him to settle in life with her. One fine day, Satya got 50 lakhs money from his boss Dibyendu Bhattacharya and he had to deliver that in time to a certain person. In the midway, Satya money has been stolen and he is now totally panicked. In frustation, Satya calls Savi and dictates his problems. Now, Savi is on a run to reach Satya as she knows he might be killed if she reaches late. Will, Savi able to save Satya is what this story is all about. Another interesting thing in the film is, Savi wakes up on the same day thrice, So now she has three chances to save his boyfriend. Will she able to do the impossible and save Satya is what this story is all about.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Looop Lapeta is one of the most interesting film of 2020 as it adds both thriller and time ticking element in the same film. If we compare this film with the original one, it is no where near to it. The original one runtime is 80 minutes and this film is 131 minutes. The theme is similar but the adaptation is totally different. If the Hindi version could have been chopped further to just 90 minutes than it would have been a better output. None the less, a decent attempt to recreate the classic film but it is just half of it. Taapsee Pannu is the only saving grace here who took the film on her shoulder. The two things that I liked in Looop Lapeta are the cinematography and editing. The screenplay could have been much better. The background music is good. The colour tone of this film is more of like the original film. The Goa based location is good and it adds up to the story. The cartoon character of the girl was there in the original film and it has been used in just one scene in Looop Lapeta. The emotional connect is missing in this film, which was there in the original one. In sort, Looop Lapeta is not the perfect tribute to the original version but certainly a one time watch.
Looop Lapeta movie has been directed by Aakash Bhatia. This film have been written by Aakash, Arnav Nanduri, Ketan Pedgaonkar and Vinay Chhawal. Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar and Aayush Maheshwari are the producers. The cinematography has been done by Yash Khanna and the editing work handled by Priyank Prem Kumar.
Looop Lapeta budget hasn’t been revealed yet by the makers but it could be reportedly around 10 to 12 crores maximum.
Altogether, Looop Lapeta is a one time watch film for the cinephile.
