Rajinikanth starring Kaala film will see the light of the day in Karnataka as it is set to release on June 7, 2018. Karnataka High Court gave decision in favour of the petitioner and Kaala producer K Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya.
Earlier, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) were against the release of Kaala over Rajinikanth’s statement of Cauvery dispute, where he demands the release of water to Tamilnadu as per SC directions. KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu on May 30 issued a press statement that this film will not be distributed or screened.
In the petition to HC, Dhanush said, “CBFC has issued a certification under Section 5B of the Cinematograph Act, 1952, for the release of ‘Kaala’ after following due process and adhering to all guidelines. After receiving such a certificate, it is the fundamental right of the petitioner under Article 19(1) of the Constitution to exhibit the film.”
High Court has now assured that the state government will provide the police security and measures for Kaala release in Karnataka. Made with 140 crores budget, Kaala might have faced 18 to 20 crores loss if it won’t be released in Karnataka.
Altogether, Kaala will soon witness advance booking in the state and it will open at the theaters on June 7, 2018.
