Mahaan movie has proved once again that Karthik Subbaraj is one of the most talented directors down in the South Film Industry. After giving gangster movies like Petta (2019) and Jagame Thandiram (2021), the director has again made a genuine father-son leg gangster type of film.

Watching Vikram and his son Dhruv together was surely a treat for the audience. The early reviews clearly says that Mahaan movie is definitely for the masses and they are liking it. Now, if you would be thinking what could have been Mahaan box office potential in Cinema Theaters, than let examine it.

Mahaan movie could have been easily released in 1000-1200 screens in Tamil version alone. It would have got 300-400 screens in other markets especially in Telugu version.

Mahaan movie could have earned around 4 to 6 crores nett on day 1. The word of mouth could have played a major role, which might have boost its collections further to 14 to 15 crores till day 3. Mahaan movie first week collections could have been in a range of 22 to 24 crores. As many films lined up for Cinema releases in Tamil market too, that would have impacted its collections after one week. Mahaan movie box office collection lifetime could have been around 45 to 47 crores.

Mahaan movie could have easily crossed its budget which is reportedly somewhere around 40 crores. This film would have been a profitable venture at the Cinema theaters. It could have been termed as an above average film if it had its theatrical release rather than OTT one.

Helmed by Karthik Subbaraj, it features Vikram, Dhruv Vikram, Simran, Vani Bhojan, Sananth, Bobby Simha and many others in key roles.
