Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Whether it’s Petta (2019) or Jagame Thandhiram (2021), Karthik Subbaraj is one of the best directors of India who make great gangster based action films. Here too, the director has made a good entertainer that audience will surely enjoy. Watching, Vikram and Dhruv Vikram in the same frame is a treat to watch. The film is majorly focuses on Vikram’s character Mahaan and its unconventional journey in life from good to bad. Dhruv gets a very late entry in this film, just before Interval, but he left a big impressions as he comes to picture till the last frame. Dhruv has worked really hard and it looks visible through his dialogue and performance. The story is good and the screenplay has been aptly presented which make this film entertaining. It is not at all a boring film and you will remind of Vikram’s Aparichit (2005) character in few of the scenes, especially during the first fight scene in this film. The production value is good and the rich visuals gives more meaning to the story. Performance wise, Vikram and his son both did their best. We all know, Dhruv will take few more years to give us more ease and powerful performance, still it is a good attempt from him. The emotions seems missing in this film which is why it won’t impact you much but the actions and writing are good enough. I really like the way the first fight scene of this film has been filmed. It looked like the whole fight scene has been shot in a one take and it look real. Such kind of action scenes I have seen in Shivaay (2016) film of Ajay Devgn. The music is decent and the editing work is also ok for me. In sort, Mahaan is surely a good action film but less on emotional quotient.

Mahaan movie has been written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. It has been produced by S S Lalit Kumar. The cinematography has been done by Shreyaas Krishna and the editing work taken care by Vivek Harshan. The musical score has been given by Santhosh Narayanan.

Mahaan movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly be around 35 to 40 crores.

Altogether, Mahaan is one of those action entertainers that you can easily watch it once with your family and friends.

Last Word: Watch it for Vikram and Dhruv Vikram. Also watch it for its action scenes.

Bollywood Crazies Ratings: Mahaan Review- Distinction (70 Percent Out Of 100).
