Ikkat is the latest Kannada movie which released on OTT Platform Amazon Prime on July 21, 2021. The screen time of this comedy drama is around 2 hours 5 minutes.
The story of this movie revolves around Bhoomi Shetty aka Janavi who married to Nagabhushana aka Vasu. Janavi thinks that she is stuck in this marriage and finds TikTok as a medium to get attention of the outside world and get some happiness. On the other hand, Vasu is busy in work and don’t have much time for the lady love. Vasu and Janavi fight most often and want a divorce with eachother. Suddenly, a lockdown of 21 days has been announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now both them got panic as they didn’t want to be stuck with each other for 21 days. Even after various attempts, both of them couldn’t able to get outside the house. So, finally they decided to stay at home for 21 days.
Out of a sudden, a fan and a TikToker with name ‘Dude Maga’ aka RJ Vikki entered in their house and wants to run away with Janavi. Later, Dude got to know that Janavi is married but still he wants to run away with her. Dude is hiding in the house but one day came in front of Janavi. Janavi now got shocked as she knows that if his husband find this, he would definitely give her divorce. In this already messed situation, a relative of Vasu, Sundar Veena aka Karna enters the house and made the situation more chaotic for Janavi. What happens next is very interesting and exciting.
The early reviews of Ikkat movie is out now and they are in a range of 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5. That simply tells that the critics and audience, both are liking this movie. This movie also holds 7.8 stars ratings out of 10 on IMDB.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: I surprising started this film to watch and get engrossed into it in just 5 minutes. I watched the film completely in on go and that’s the magic of a film which has been beautifully written. Making a film from start to end in a house and also making it engaging is a difficult task. Still, I must praise the directors and writers who made sure to make audience laugh despite the restrictions of lockdown. I personally enjoyed all the characters and they are quite relatable in todays’ time. There is a spider in this film which can be seen on the scene 1 and the same spider can be seen in the last scene as well. Even, the directors have used spider as a part of the story very well. The creative team did used TikTok element in this film, which makes it more relevant. The Dude Maga and Angel Janavi acting in TikTok videos were hilarious as hell. Vasu has an interesting role here who thinks of himself as a smart Sherlock Holmes but his wife does make fool out of him at various intervals. A scene where Vasu had to go outside to buy grocery has been showed well. In short, you can relate to the story and its characters instantly and you won’t get bored for a single second. This film hardly has a song but the music has been aptly used to create the situation more hilarious. I must say that it is a situational comedy. The directors have used Part One, Part Two, Part 3 kind of narration in the screenplay which I liked. It is a low budget film but high on content.
Ikkat movie have been directed by Esham Khan and Haseen Khan. This movie has been produced by Pawan Kumar and the musical score given by Dossmode. The cinematography has been done by Lavith. Dialogues in this movie have been written by Esham, Haseen and Ramakrishna Ranagatti.
Ikkat movie budget hasn’t been revealed yet by the makers but it could reportedly be in a range of 3 to 4 crores maximum.
Altogether, Ikkat movie will surprise you with its interesting story and situational comedy.
