Daman is an Odia film which has officially released in Odisha on November 4, 2022. Interestingly, Daman movie has been released in North Market on November 11, including Delhi and Mumbai. The screen time of this social drama film is around 2 hours 1 minutes.
Story: The story of this film revolves around young doctor Babushaan Mohanty aka Siddharth who visits interiors of Odisha- Malkangiri district, due to some professional reasons. So, Siddharth is in the middle of a jungle where 151 villages are there but with no basic facilities for people. No light, no mobile signal and no doctor. Well, when Sid was planning to leave this jungle, he met with a girl who is suffering from Malaria. So, Sid treats the girl and soon the whole village got to know about the new doctor in the town. Even, Sid decides to be in this jungle for the people. As, the story is set in the year 2015, many people in 151 villages were suffering from Malaria. Despite lot of problem and vehicles issue, Sid didn’t leave hope and he does his job professionally. There is a scene in this film, where a pregnant lady is in labour pain and that 7-8 minute scene is the highlight of this film. As, Doctor has no stretcher or vehicle to carry the pregnant lady. What the doctor does in this troublesome situations is an interesting thing to know.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Daman movie story is raw and strong which instantly click with the audience. The cinematography is so beautiful that you feel like you are in one of the villages in the jungle. Long and ariel shots are the beauty of this film. My favourite scene, the pregnant lady scene before the interval will take your breath away. Talking about the performance, Babushaan Mohanty is the show stellar and his earnest performance has won my heart. The background music is good in this film. The screenplay is good as it hook you from start to finish. It is one of those films that totally rely on the strong story and the protagonist performance. The editing work is great as the length of this film is just 2 hours. The landscapes, jungle scenary are the highlights of this film. The production value is good as most of the shots have been taken on a real location rather than sets. The core message of this film is about humanity and how you should care for others too. As the story is based on real life incident, so it hurts you even more.
Daman movie have been directed by Debi Prasad Lenka and Vishal Mourya. It has been produced by Deependra Samal and the cinematography has been done by Pratap Rout. The musical score has been given by Gaurav Anand.
Daman movie budget hasn’t been revealed yet by the makers but it could reportedly being around 80 to 90 lakhs.
Altogether, Daman is surely a must watch cinema and that too only in theaters. A must watch family film for the audience.
