Bhramam is the latest Malayalam film which released on OTT Platform Amazon Prime on October7, 2021. This film is a remake of popular Hindi film Andhadhun of 2018. The screen time of this crime thriller film is around 2 hours 36 minutes.
Story: A pretentious blind pianist Prithviraj Sukumaran aka Ray Mathews life goes upside down when he performs into the house of Shankar aka Udayakumar, who is a known celebrity in Malayalam films. Ray saw that Mamta Mohandas aka Simi (Uday’s wife) husband is in a pool of blood. Ray also saw Unni Mukundan aka C.I. Dinesh Prabhakar in Simi’s house. Well, when Ray reaches to nearby police station and got shocked to see Dinesh (Simi’s lover) is a police officer. Raashi Khanna plays the role of Anna, who is Ray’s girlfriend didn’t know much about the secrets of her boyfriend. What happens next forms the rest of the story. Is Ray get into trouble due to this murder is what this story is all about.

The early reviews of Bhramam movie is out and many have rated this film in a range of 2.5 to 3 stars out of 5 stars. Many have compared this film with the original one and finds various flaws in this film which seems to be a frame to frame copy. Bhramam movie holds a rating of 7.1 stars out of 10 on IMDB.
Bollywood Crazies Ratings: Personally, I didn’t get much excited to watch a film which is already a remake. Still, there are scope that makers can en-cash on despite making a remake film. I saw Marathi film Sairat (2016) and also its Hindi remake Dhadak (2018). Both the films are based on the same topic but has been made in a different way. Even the ending is different in both the films. Talking about Bhramam, most of the things are similar, only White Rabbit has been changed to Wild Boar. Acting wise, Prithviraj did a good job by not copying the nuances of Ayushmann Khurrana. aashi’s role is good to some extent. Well, the problem for me lies with the performances of Shankar and Mamta, who didn’t able to gave as credible performances like Anil Dhawan and Tabu in Hindi version. The production value and other things are just OK. Even the musical score couldn’t be as great as the original one. Still, if you haven’t watched the original one than you would definitely enjoy this without any doubt. Remaking a film as it is, not always a good thing like Narappa (2021) is a frame to frame version of Asuran (2019). Still, there are some fresh things that may enchant you in this film. Director did a decent job here for not copying the film frame to frame basis.
The cinematography and direction of Bhramam movie has been done by Ravi K. Chandran. The editing work has been done by Sreekar Prasad and musical score given by Jakes Bejoy. This film have been produced by Viacom18 Studios and A.P. International.
Bhramam movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly be around 6 to 7 crore maximum.
Altogether, if you surely like Bhramam if you haven’t seen the original one. Prithviraj did good in his role, which actually saves this film.
