Annabelle Sethupathi is the latest Tamil film which released on Disney Plus Hotstar on September 17, 2021. The film also released in the Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions with the same title. In Hindi, the title of this film has been changed to Annabelle Rathore. This horror comedy film has a screen time of 2 hours 14 minutes.
Story: The story of this film set in 1948 where Vijay Sethupathi aka King Devendra Singh Rathore has built a big and beautiful palace. The story again forwarded in 1966 and we see how few members of Devendra family again get trapped in the palace, which is already haunted. The story again forwarded to 2021 where an old man can be seen gazing the same palace and says he didn’t have the courage to enter this palace as it is a haunted one. Now a family full of thieves gets an entry into the haunted house and their lives are totally changed after that. Taapsee Pannu aka Rudra aka Annabelle essays the role of a thief here and it is her family who got stuck in this scary palace. This movie also feature Jagapathi Babu aka King Gajendra Singh as the king of the palace.
The film also stars Rajendra Prasad, Raadhika, Yogi Babu, Vennela Kishore, Subbu Panchu, Suresh Chandra Menon, George Maryan, Jangiri Madhumitha, Devadarshini and many others.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Annabelle Sethupathi is one of those comedy films that is not so funny at all. The story concept is unique but the execution is not up to the mark. The dubbing work in Hindi didn’t worked for me as there are various issues in it. The film has been made with good production value but still it fails to make us laugh. The VFX work is good in this film. Vijay Sethupathi is the soul of this film who come only in the second half of this film. Annabelle Sethupathi first half is quite flat but the second half is somewhere engaging. The romantic story between Vijay Sethupathi and Taapsee Pannu are the highlight of this film. The movie has been shot beautifully without a doubt. The film is less on emotions and drama, which were a major drawback of this film. Still you can watch this film once with your family. Big Palace and old cars are something that makes this film look extremely beautiful. The songs in Hindi are good to the ears. This film could have been made much better than what it is now.
Annabelle Sethupathi has been written and directed by Deepak Sundarrajan. It has been produced by Sudhan Sundaram and G Jayaram. The editing work has been done by Pradeep E. Ragav and the cinematography helmed by Goutham George. The musical score has been given by Krishna Kishor.
The Annabelle Sethupathi movie budget hasn’t been revealed yet by the makers but it could reportedly be around 18 to 20 crores maximum.
Altogether, Annabelle Sethupathi is one of those horror comedy films that don’t scare you at all.
