Annaatthe movie is the latest Tamil movie which has released worldwide on the occasion of Diwali in cinema theaters on November 4, 2021. The screen time of this family drama film is around 2 hours 43 minutes.
Story: The story of this film revolves around Rajinikanth aka Kaalaiyan aka Annaatthe is a panchayat president. When Kaaliyan was young, he got a responsibility to take care of his sister Keerthy Suresh aka Thanga Meenatchi. He is a protective brother and goes to any extent to protech her sister. On the other hand, she also share the same bond with his brother. One fine day, Kaalaiyan fixes a marriage for her sister but she elopes with someone else a day before marriage. Kaalaiyan got hurt but didn’t stop Meenatchi to lead her own life in her own way. Well, she starts facing trouble in the new town but Kaalaiyan was always there looking at her from the shadows. Will, brother and sister will reunite again or the villains Jagapathi Babu and Abhimanyu Singh create trouble is what you need to watch here.

Soori as Pachakili is the sidekick of Rajinikanth’s character in this film. This film also stars Nayanthara aka Pattamal, Meena aka Mangayarkarasi, Khushbu aka Angayarkanni, Prakash Raj and many others.
The early reviews of Annaatthe movie is out and they are mixed and negative reviews in a range of 1.5 to 2 stars out of 5 stars. Many even goes on to say that, this is the worst film of Rajini sir, much worse than Darbar (2020). This film currently holds 4.9 stars ratings out of 10 stars on IMDB.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Annaatthe movie story is weak and old school formula of brother and sister bond. Even, the dialogues are mainly typical that people have already heard in lot of movies. Rajinikanth has tried his best but this film didn’t got its hold due to its weak writing and lethargic screenplay. The emotional depth in this film is missing which is why it didn’t got connected with the audience. Rajini sir did look amazing in this film but his role overshadowed by the weak execution. Only, the action scenes of Rajinikanth sir is something that audience would love to watch. More screen time has been given to Keerthy but her character was so dramatic that audience got bored and might have compared with daily soap operas. The music is good enough to hold your ears for long. The cinematography and editing is quite ok. Overall, you don’t feel to laugh even on funny scenes, that’s what is the problem with this film. The makers have left the talented actors underutilized in this film. The major problem here is the screen time of 2 hours 43 minutes, which is too long to test audience patience.

Altogether, Annaatthe is a failed attempt by the makers which will not work on a big time in Cinema Theaters across the world.
