Akshay Kumar starring Padman has seen a big growth of 20 percent as compared to its fourth day. It is because of Mahashivratri Festival today, which has helped the collections in a big way.
The 5th day morning audience occupancy is around 20 percent. The afternoon occupancy was 30 percent, which was followed by 40 percent occupancy in the evening shows. The night audience occupancy is yet not confirmed but it will be very similar to the evening one. With this trend, it is clear that the fifth-day collection will be around 6 to 7 cores minimum. This will take the final total collection above 50 crores, which currently stands at 45.92 crores.
Released in 3350 screens worldwide, it got 600 screens in the overseas market. In the first weekend in overseas, Padman movie has earned $ 2.31 million (14.84 crores) at the box office. The collections will also see a big jump on its 6th day, as it will be a valentine day, though it is not an official holiday in India.
Directed by R Balki, this film is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who started making low-cost sanitary pads for village women. He is also being referred to as India’s menstrual men and honored with Padmashri award, which is India’s fourth highest civilian award.
Altogether, Padman is all set to fly high with such a strong collection on its fifth day.
