The story of this film revolves around the life of Arjun Kapoor aka Amreek who is in love with Rakul Preet Singh aka Radha. The two of them also started a their Gently Gently business in USA, where they shift household furnitures and other things from one place to another. Well, Radha always wanted that Amreek should learn from his mistakes and behave like a civilised person. On the other hand, Amreek is stubborn and didn’t want to change a big for someone else. One find day, they two fought and left each other. Now, Amreek is back in India as his grandmother Neena Gupta, who played a 90-year-old woman here, is seriously ill. Well, Amreek tells his love failure to his grand mother and now Neena Gupta wants to fix the problem in his life. Neena also remembers her own love affair set in 1947 and that role has been played by Aditi Rao Hydari and John Abraham, as the lover. Will, Amreek’s grand mother able to resolve the problem between him and Radha is what the story is all about. The interesting twist in the tale is, Neena Gupta belongs to Lahore, Pakistan and she wanted to visit her old home once before her death. Will Amreek able to fulfil her grandmother’s promise is what makes this film interesting in the second half.
This film also stars Kumud Mishra, Kanwaljit Singh, Soni Razdan and many others.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: A slow paced romantic drama which has some laughter infused in it. Neena Gupta and Arjun Kapoor together made a good pair of son and grandmother. Their bonding can be easily seen in this film. The screenplay is slow and that might bored you at sometime. The thing that I didn’t liked is, when Arjun Kapoor does over comedy in few scenes. The story is good but it didn’t presented well. Still, there are several positive moments in this film which you might like. There is nothing new to deliver here for audience and that is one of the biggest drawback of this film. Neena Gupta is one of the best performers in this film and you will resonate with her character. The screentime could have been cut short by 15-20 minutes, for better experience for audience. The first half is pretty weak and dull, whereas second half turns interesting as soon as Amreek visits Pakistan. The movie end on a high note but the slow screenplay spoils the feel of the movie to a great extent. The last scene of this film where the focus is on Neena Gupta is the best part of the film.

Altogether, Sardar Ka Grandson is a decent film that could have been much much better. Still, a nice attempt.
Last word: Watch it for Neena Gupta and her grand mother character. Rakul and Arjun also did decent job here. I also appreciate the director Kaashvie for bringing something new to the platter for audience.
