Dhanush starrer Maaran movie has officially released on an OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar on March 11, 2022. This is Dhanush third release on OTT after Jagame Thandhiram (2021) and Atrangi Re (2021). Well, Maaran movie has received mixed to negative reviews from critics.

Dhanush fans were upset when Jagame Thandhiram got released on OTT and we know they were upset again for Maaran OTT premiere. As, we all know that, Dhanush films are always getting good response in theaters as compare to its direct OTT release. Well, if you would be thinking what could have been Maaran box office collection if it had ever released in theaters. So, here we will analyse Maaran movie box office collection potential from Day 1 to its lifetime.

Maaran movie could have easily released in 1200 to 1500 screens in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Maaran could have easily earned a collection of around 10 to 12 crores nett on day 1. The word of mouth could have impacted this film from Day 2 onwards. This film could have easily collected 23 to 25 crores nett in the first weekend.

The mixed response from critics audience could be the major hurdle for this film to earn big money in the weekdays. It still had a chance to make around 32 to 34 crores nett in first week. Maaran movie lifetime collections could have been in a range of 37 to 38 crores maximum in the cinema theaters.

The above collections of Maaran could have easily recovered its budget in cinema halls but it could never been called a hit film in theaters.

Maaran movie has been directed by Karthick Naren. It also stars Malavika Mohanan, Smruthi Venkat, Samuthirakani and many others in pivotal roles.
