In last 24 hours, two big news hits the ground in Bollywood. On September 16, Akshay Kumar revealed that his upcoming Laxmmi Bomb to hit the OTT platform on November 9, 2020. Well, on September 17, it is being reported that Varun Dhawan starrer Coolie No 1 to be released directly on OTT on November 13, 2020.

Laxmmi Bomb to release on Disney Hotstar plus on Monday on November 9 and most probably at 7.30 pm, which is the premiere time. On the other side, Varun and Sara Ali Khan starrer rom-com to release on Amazon Prime on Diwali day, which is on Friday on November 13. That means, with in four days audience going to get to watch two big films directly releasing on OTT platforms.

Laxmmi Bomb was first planned to hit the silver screens on EID 2020 but it got scheduled for Diwali due to coronavirus. For the same reason, Coolie No 1, which was planned for May 1, 2020 release is now changed to Diwali release.

The bad thing about both these films are, they are big budgeted with bug stars but not able to make it to theaters. This will be a huge loss to the multiplexes and single screen theaters. Still, no one can do anything as theatres have been closed in India from March 12, 2020. It is still yet to open after 6 months.

On the positive side, Sooryavanshi which was touted for Diwali theatrical release might be pushed to next year in January or February, depending upon the situation.
