Story: The story of this film revolves around Salman Khan aka Karan and Shah Rukh Khan aka Arjun who lives in a village in Rajasthan with their mother Raakhee aka Durga Singh. Sooner, the duo realizes that their father belongs to a rich family but he was killed by few men from Haveli (big mansion). Amrish Puri aka Thakur Durjan Singh realizes that some day Karan and Arjun will come and ask for the Haveli property, so he killed both of them. Well, the interesting thing here is, Durga prays to lord to bring their sons back to life. We know that, the duo comes back after almost 25 years and we know what will happen next.

This film also stars Kajol aka Sonia, Mamta Kulkarni aka Bindiya, Johnny Lever, Ashok Saraf, Ranjeet, Aasif Sheikh, Jack Gaud and many others in key roles.

The reviews of Karan Arjun is highly positive and it still holds 6.8 ratings out of 10 on IMDB and around 70% ratings on RottenTomatoes.com website.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: The story of this movie is about Re-incarnation and it was something new back than in 90s. Though few films have been made on this topic in the past but still this movie works well in all the department. This movie has won Filmfare award in Editing and action, that itself says a lot about this movie. I personally liked the editing work and also the cinematography of this film. I feel, the realistic locations have made this film more realistic and believable. Talking about the acting, I feel Raakhee has overshadowed all other actors in this film by a margin. I do like the performances of SRK and Salman, but it was the emotional role of Raakhee that hit me strongly. Amrish Puri also played a good role here. Other cast also given good support to the main cast. The background music of this film is so good that you would love to see it again and again on big screen. As I have seen this film in theaters on November 23, 2024, I must admit that the color grading has been done and it looks superb and the Dolby Digital sound make this experience once in a lifetime. The larger than life feel of this movie makes it a perfect watch for big screen. The production value is superb and the performances took the movie to next level. I didn’t felt bored at all and I think such movies will never be made in today’s time. The passion for cinema is visible here and every scene is better than the past scene in this movie. Thanks to the director who has given a good film for the masses and classes. One more thing, Mamta looks more beautiful here than Kajol.

This movie has been produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan. It was written by Sachin Bhowmick, Ravi Kapoor and Anwar Khan. The cinematography has been done by Kaka Thakur and the editing work handled by Sanjay Verma.

Made with a budget of 6 crores, this film has grossed 43 crores worldwide in 1995. Karan Arjun is the second highest grossing Bollywood film of that year and the first was Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge which also starred SRK, Kajol and Amrish Puri.

Altogether, Karan Arjun is regarded as cult classic now and it is one of the best films from Bollywood so far.

Last Word: Watch it for Raakhee performance and Salman-SRK magic.

Bollywood Crazies Ratings: Karan Arjun Review- 4 stars out of 5 stars.
