Tamil film Maharaja had released in China on November 29, 2024. This Film has released in India on June 14, 2024 and since than it has received critical acclaim from masses. The movie became big hit when it reached on OTT platform. After almost 5 months, Maharaja has made it big on Chinese market where it has been released in 33310 shows on day 1.
The early paid previews of Maharaja has started from November 23 and continued for almost a week in China. In paid previews only, Maharaja movie has earned around USD 635K – 5.4 crores (Chinese Yuan 4.6 million). Maharaja movie got a new name in China which is Karma.
On Day 1, Maharaja movie has been seen by 1.04 lakh people and the per ticket price is USD 5.16 which is around 436 Indian Rupees. Maharaja stood up to 5th position on day 1 in China beating the likes of Gladiator II (8th) and Chinese film Break Through (9th). On day 1, Maharaja has collected around USD 540K – Rs.4.56 crores gross. This took the total along with paid previews around USD 1.18 million – 9.98 crores gross.
After seeing the first day response of Maharaja movie in China, there are big chances that, Maharaja collections will be almost double on day 2. This movie has been rated with 8.7 stars ratings out of 10 on Chinese website movie.douban which is chinese equivalent to IMDB.
