Story: Gadar first film was set in 1947 and this Gadar 2 is set in the period of 1971. This film revolves around Sunny Deol aka Tara Singh who this time goes to Pakistan to rescue his young son Utkarsh Sharma aka Jeetey. This time he faces a new villain Manish Wadhwa aka Hamid Iqbal, who is a Pakistani army general. Will, Tara able to rescue Jeetey from Pakistan is what this story is all about.
This time Ameesha Patel aka Sakina has taken a back seat and mostly director focused on father and son. This movie also features Simrat Kaur aka Muskaan, Mushtaq Khan and many others.
The early reviews of this film are good they are in a range of 3 to 3.5 stars out ot 5 stars.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: The writing of this film is superb and the screenplay is lively. I am happy that the director has connected the dots from first part to second one. The dialogues are good and some are even whistle worthy. Talking about the performances, Utkarsh has done a good job, along with the villain Mr Wadhwa. Well, the film is totally stole by Sunny Deol’s incredible performance. The first half of this film is good but there are too many songs that may divert you a bit. The second half is full of high octane stunts and most importantly Sunny Deol is doing his actions on his own which is commendable. This is not a film that you can compare with the original one but definitely a well made sequel that you will be proud of. It is not a well executed film technically but definitely a good film with full of emotions in it. The songs of this film is high point and the action is also applaud worthy. The production value is low and that can be visible during some action sequences. Still. I would say it is a well crafted film that is for all kind of audience. Indian army has given full support to this film thats why the climax scene looks promising with lot of tanks involved in it. Not the best of Anil Sharma’s work but definitely a worthy one time watch with full family. I must say that don’t go by the logic of this film but definitely go by the emotions.
