Cuttputlli is the latest Bollywood film which has officially released on OTT platform DisneyPlus Hotstar on September 2, 2022. The screen time of this crime thriller film is around 2 hours 14 minutes. This movie is an official remake of Tamil film Ratsasan (2018).
Story: So, Akshay Kumar becomes a police inspector Arjan Sethi in Kasauli city of Himachal Pradesh. As soon as he takes charge as a rookie in the police team, he sees that many young girls goes missing and being killed in a similar pattern. Arjan who wants to be a film writer gives up his passion and joins the police force. Well, his brother-in-law Chandrachur Singh aka Narinder Singh is also a police inspector. On the other hand, Arjan works under Sargun Mehta aka SHO Gudia Parmar. In this film, Rakul Preet Singh essays a role of Divya who is a school teacher. So, after the killings of few young girls in the town, Arjan and his police team get ready to nab the collar of the culprit. Will, Arjan and his team able to catch the killer is what this film is all about.
The early reviews of Cuttputlli movie is out now and they are mixed to negative ratings in a range of 2 to 2.5 out of 5 stars. So Cuttputlli movie currently holds around 6.2 stars ratings out of 10 stars on IMDB website.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: First thing First, there are few changes in Cuttputlli as compare to the original, which is good. Though, the original one is far better than this. The ending is ok but it could have been much better. Akshay Kumar looks good as a police inspector but his 100 percent dedication seems missing this time. Though, there are few scenes, where Akshay did make us emotional. The first half is good but the second half seems lethargic especially in the end. Thank God this film has one song in the middle which should have been avoided as well. The second song Raaba has not been a part of this film. The editing work is OK but its the screenplay that looses its grip in the second half. I feel Sargun Mehta delivered a good performance here. Ranjit M Tewari is the director here and he did a decent job just like he did in Bell Bottom movie (2021). This is not one of those films that you will remember for a long time but definitely a one time watch. The cinematography and the background music is average here.

Cuttputlli movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly be around 38 to 40 crores maximum.
Altogether, Cuttputlli is one of those films that is surely a decent watch on OTT but it could have been a big flop in theaters.
