Wonder Woman 1984 makers predicted a USD 40 million (294 crores) in China in the first weekend itself but the things are taking a wrong turn for the latest release of this superhero film. It was released in mainland China on December 18, 2020 ahead of its OTT release on HBO Max and theaterical release on December 25, 2020.

Well, on the first day itself, Wonder Woman collected just around USD 7 million (51 crores) in China. From here on, it is tough to even rake USD 20 million (147 crores) in first weekend. That means, Wonder Woman 1984 isn’t performing the way it was expected in China.
Contrary to that, Chinese film The Rescue, which released on the same day, has earned big money of around USD 13 million (94 crores).
Wonder Woman 1984 has made with a lavish budget of around USD 200 million (1472 crores). Though, it is hard to predict about the collections of this film worldwide. Still, Tenet which also made with around the same budget has performed wonderfully in foreign shores. So, all we could do is hope for a better return of investment for the makers.
Directed by Patty Jenkins, this film feature Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. This movie also feature Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright and many others. Interestingly, Wonder Woman 1984 also release in India on December 25, 2020.
