Vedaa movie officially released in theaters on August 15, 2024. The screentime of this action drama thriller is reportedly around 2 hours 31 minutes.
Story: The story of this film revolves around John Abraham aka Major Abhimanyu Kanwar who has been court-martialed by Indian army for not following the rules. So, Abhimanyu is back in his hometown in a small town in Rajasthan. Here, he was enrolled in a college campus to teach boxing to local students. An untouchable dalit girl Sharvari aka Vedaa Bairava also study in the same college and she wants to learn boxing to become a strong girl. We later see, how upper caste district level minister played by Abhishek Banerjee and his younger brother create is threat to the society as they do all the wrong doings with the help of police. The younger brother of the political leader turns his eyes on Vedaa’s younger sister and this led a series of violence from both sides. Will, Abhimanyu able to save Vedaa is what this story is all about.
This film also stars Ashish Vidyarthi, Tamannaah Bhatia, Kumud Mishra, Mouni Roy and many others.
The early reviews of Vedaa movie is out now and they are in a range of 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Vedaa movie deals with untouchablity, dalit, upper caste and lower caste issues. The story of this film is a bit outdated as such stories were often being made in 80’s and 90’s. The screenplay of first half is good but the second half looked a bit dragged. The action scenes were good but some of the action scenes were too hard to digest. The film has a decent story but the soul of this film is missing. The cinematography is superb especially during action sequences. Talking about performances, I feel Sharvari has justified her role quite well and John also done a decent job here. We have seen John in such kind of action roles a lot many times and I feel he need to do other kind of roles too for a longer run. This movie looks like a masala potboiler but didn’t impacted much as a whole. Such kind of subjects do work in small screens but multiplexes audience may not like it. The movie is a must watch for female but not a proper family entertainer. Too much voilence don’t liked by family audience. This film hardly have any repeat value and it is just a one time watch. The production value is good but the screenplay could have been better.
Vedaa movie has been directed by Nikkhil Advani and edited by Aseem Arora. It have been produced by Umesh KR Bansal, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and John Abraham. The cinematography has been done by Malay Prakash and editing work handled by Maahir Zaveri.
Vedaa movie budget hasn’t been revealed yet by the makers but it could reportedly be around 35 crores maximum.
Altogether, Vedaa is surely a one time watch but not a proper family entertainer.
Last Word: Watch it for Sharvari and some good action sequences.
