For those who don’t know, this play was one of the biggest hits among Americans in late 60s and early 70s. Even a film has been adapted on the same name released in 1970. In 2018, this play has completed 50 years and it was presented again in Broadway by stars like Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer and many others.

Interestingly, the makers have casted all the same characters of the 2018 play into this movie. The other actors also include Andrew Rannells, Charlie Carver, Robin de Jesus, Brian Hutchison, Michael Benjamin Washington, Tuc Watkins.

This play talks about the problems and lives of gay people in the civil society. How, Jim Parsons aka Michael hate about his sexuality and finds himself always in a turmoil situation. A party has been thrown in Michael’s House and how an unnecessary guest ruins a party time. This film gets interesting after 1 hour as all the party men were asked to play a game and call their lovers through telephone call.

Its a well made film and receiving great reviews on Internet. IMDB rated this film 6.7 out of 10, Rottentomatoes gave it 86 percent. On the other hand, Metacritic rated this film with 72 percent. These critical ratings prove that it is a worth a watch film for all cinema lovers.

This film has been produced by Ryan Murphy, David Stone, Joe Mantello, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Ned Martel. It has been edited by Adriaan Van Zyl, who did a good job, as the film looks smooth. The Boys In The Band has been shot by cinematographer Bill Pope.

After watching The Boys In The Band, you will definitely understand the feelings and problems of gay people more closely and clearly. This film may not be liked by all kind of audiences but it is a great film to spend two hours for. There are hardly much outdoor scenes in this film but still it won’t make you feel bore.
