Selfiee is one of the biggest release of Bollywood in 2023 and it has finally hit the screens on February 24, 2023. The screen time of this action, comedy, drama is around 2 hours 23 minutes. This film has been certified with UA Certificate by Indian Censor Board. This film is an official remake of Malayalam film Driving Licence (2023).
Story: The story of this film revolves around Akshay Kumar aka Vijay Kumar who is playing a superstar in this movie. On the other hand, Emraan Hashmi essays the role of RTO sub-inspector Om Prakash Agarwal who is a big fan of Vijay Sir. When Vijay arrives in Bhopal, Om and his son wants to take a Selfiee. While shooting in Bhopal, Vijay needs to drive a car and for that he wants to have a Driving Licence, which he lost recently. So, Vijay was being called in RTO office by Om for the sake of selfiee and in return he will provide driving license to the superstar. Well, Vijay was frustrated to see media infront ot RTO office, so he yelled at Om Prakash. Due to this, Om gets angry on Vijay and now the biggest fan turns the biggest rival. What happens later forms the rest of the story. This film also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha as Om’s wife and Diana Penty as Vijay’s wife.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: The story of this film is nicely written and presented it equally well which is why it gets entertaining with every passing minute. The first half has lot of comedy punch but the film get serious after 45 minutes. The film has few comedy punch in the second half. The best thing is that, you can relate with the character of Om who is a common man and he has his own common struggles. I find this film entertaining and has some beautiful dialogues to take back home. The first half is full of freshness but the film gets slow in the middle of second half. The film could have been better in the second half as it seems a bit dragged. Well, I haven’t watched the original Malayalam film and may be that’s the reason why I enjoyed it so much. Not to forget, the direction is superb by Raj Mehta, he made a good film for the masses. The music of this film is good and it hits you well in your mind. Main Khiladi Tu Anari is good song and I enjoyed it on big screens. The heroines have got decent roles but the film is mainly revolved around Emraan and Akshay. The production value of this film is good and I am happy that the film is fully shot in India which makes it relatable to the Indian masses. The film has given some good messages in the end and audience will like it. This is a family entertainer for sure and definitely a one time watch.
The budget of Selfiee movie hasn’t been revealed yet by the makers but it is reportedly around 58 to 60 crores maximum.
Last Word: Watch it only for Akshay Kumar And Emraan Hashmi. You will enjoy it more if you have haven’t watched the original one.
