Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is the latest release film on OTT platform Netflix on August 9, 2024. It is a direct sequel to Hasseen Dillruba (2021). The runtime of this mystery thriller drama film is around 2 hours 12 minutes 34 seconds.
Story: The film features Taapsee Pannu aka Rani Saxena who has killed Harshvardhan Rane aka lover Neel Tripathi in the first film. We all know that Vikrant Massey aka Rishab Saxena took the blame on him and absconded from the city and the police is still in search of him. After few months, we see that Rani lives a normal life and runs a bridal makeup shop with others. Soon, we see that Sunny Kaushal aka Abhimanyu Pandit falls in love for Rani without knowing her past. Rani often meets Rishab secretly and they both plan to flew to Thailand in few weeks. Well the trouble begins when Neel’s uncle aka Senior Police Inspector Jimmy Sheirgill aka Monty is back in town and opens the case of Rishab. Sooner we see that, Rani and Rishab trouble starts brewing and they don’t know what to do next. So, Rani decides to marry Abhimanyu for her personal reasons but the latter thought that she loves him. When, Abhimanyu gets to know about Rani’s intentions behind the marriage is when the actual trouble starts. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
The film also starts Aditya Srivastava aka ACO Kishore Rawat, Saanand Verma aka Manav Shukla, Trupti Khamkar aka Meena, Bhumika Dube aka Poonam and many others.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba story is interesting and there are number of twists that will keep you hooked the very end. Performance wise, Taapsee again worked wonders along with Vikrant. I personally feel that Sunny also done a commendable job here. Apart from that Jimmy is also done well but the suprise for me in this movie is Bhumika Dube who essayed a role of handicapped girl Poonam. The screenplay is good but it could have been much better. The impact is missing due to weak direction to some extent. The cinematography is superb and the editing work is also passable. The end twist is certainly something that I liked. The makers also given a big hope for its third part as the story didn’t end here. I feel, the makers could have cut shorted few scenes to make it much more impactive. The VFX work is just ok and it could have been much better. The production work is decent and the locations gives much more authenticity to the story. I personally felt that Sunny is the victim in the first half but he seems to be more dangerous then the lovers duo. Monty sir could have given much better role to play as it feels like he has been wasted just like in old films where police comes late. The background music is also good and helps the film to elevate to next level. The film fails to leave a strong emotional impact due to weak direction. Still, there are various scenes that makes this film interesting.
This movie has been directed by Jayprad Desai and written by Kanika Dhillon. It have been produced by Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. The cinematography work done by Vishal Sinha and editing handled by Hemal Kothari. The musical score taken care by Sachet-Parampara and Anurag Saikia.
Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba budget hasn’t been revealed yet but it could be reportedly around 18 to 20 crores maximum.
Altogether, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is a must watch film on OTT this week. Definitely, this film looks like you are reading a mystery novel. I feel that it is an OTT version of Drishyam where police fails again and again.
Last Word: Watch it for Taapsee, Sunny, Vikrant and Bhumika. The direction could have been much better but still a one time watch. Good story writing with lot of twists.
