Bollywood Film fraternity must be quite elated with the latest news that is related to Censor Board chief Pahlaj Nihalani. Narendra Modi led Government has ousted Pahlaj Nihalani from the post of Censor Board Chairman. He will be replaced by Bollywood Lyricist Prasoon Joshi.

This is quite a big breaking news for all the Bollywood fraternity. As they all had a problem with Pahlaj Nihalani whom they find it not worthy for the position of Censor Chief. A lot had been said and done about Pahlaj Nihalani. He is always being accused of cutting unnecessary scenes from the film.

As per the censor board rules, they have the rights to certify movies but not edit or cut them down. This is what has infuriated many Bollywood filmmakers since the appointment of Pahlaj Nihalani in 2015.

If we talk about the latest scandals, he has cut down a lot of scenes from Madhur Bhandarkar’s Indu Sarkar. That’s not all, he is even not ready to cerfity movies like Lipstick Under My Burkha. After a lot of controversy going around this women centric film, the censor board tribunal has passed the film.

Altogether, Pahlaj Nihalani is out of his Censor Chief Post and will be replaced by famous lyricist Pahlaj Nihalani.
