Netflix’s web series Postcards features Kashyap Chandhock as the casting director

During his visit to Nigeria, Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi highlighted the growing interest in Hindi and Indian films among Nigerian youth, mentioning that many students in Kano are learning Hindi and a group called “Dostana” is promoting the language. Modi also noted the local fascination with Indian cinema, particularly referring to Postcards, a series blending Indian and Nigerian cultures, exploring themes of love, family, and personal growth.

Kashyap Chandhock, who comes from a non-film family, contributed passionately to this project, aiming to creatively impact film production. He got the opportunity to work on Postcards through the talented producer duo, Vikram and Fenil Khakhar. The series features an impressive cast, including Rajneesh Duggal, Lekha Prajapati, Chirag Bajaj, Shivangi Peswani, Geetanjali Punjabi, and Gurleen Grewal.

Early Career:

Kashyap started his career as a casting assistant at Dharma Productions, working on films like  Brothers and Kapoor & Sons.

Freelance Work:

Later, he became an independent casting director, working on films like  Nanu Ki Jaanu Starring Abhay Deol, Patralekhaa & Rajesh Sharma and  Fryday, Starring Govinda, Varun Sharma, Digangna Suryanvanshi & Prabhleen Sandhu.

Casting Approach:

Kashyap also collaborated with Legendary Director Mr. Rajkumar Santoshi for couple of Projects Like BadboyGandhi Godse – Ek Yudh, it was a fresh approach by casting actors with theater experience to bring the historical characters to life. The film featured Deepak Antani as Gandhi and Chinmay Mandlekar as Godse, among others. Casting of this Film was the talk of the town.

In  Bad Boy, Namashi Chakraborty and Amreen Qureshi were cast in the lead roles, alongside legends like Rajesh Sharma, Saswata Chatterjee, and Johnny Lever.

Kashyap has also worked on the TV show Bin Kuchh Kahe (Zee TV) as a Casting Director of the Entire Show.

The Postcards series is now available for streaming on Netflix.
