The story of this webseries is located in the 90s Bihar and its a full on political drama. Sohum Shah aka Bheema Bharti as Bihar’s Chief Minister is having a good time sitting on the chair whereas opposition party leaders want him to destroy and take the power of the Bihar. One day, when Bheema Bharti was celebrating Chatt Pooja with wife Huma Qureshi aka Rani Bharti, he was shot by some men. Somehow, Bheema Bharti survived but couldn’t able to walk or talk, and doctor told him for complete rest for at least 6 months. Now, Bihar’s CM has surprisingly picked his wife Rani Bharti for the Chief Minister’s Post. Rani who is uneducated and has three kids, now has to enter politics in order to save his husband’s life and protect the future of Bihar by having a power. Will, Rani Bharti able to find out the people who tried to kill her husband and changed the dynamics of Bihar is what you must watch in this long series.

The early reviews of Maharani webseries is out now and they are in a range of 2.5 to 3 stars out of 5.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Sony Liv never fails to impress us with its story and writing and here too the writing is good. The biggest ever surprise of this webseries is the lead actress Huma Qureshi, who is the whole and soul of this political drama. I must say, Huma did surprised me with her character of a Bihar based uneducated CM’s wife. Her hardwork on her language and accent is praiseworthy but she could have done much better. Sohum Shah in his role of Bihar’s CM has really played it well. Amit Sial has impressed us again like he did in Sony Liv’s last offering Kathmandu Connection. The director did give us a full feel of Bihar from the 90s era by making this long webseries. The only drawback I find is the screentime which is over 7 hours. Still, if you love politics, you will like it. The production value and set designs are rich and it adds weightage to the story. At some point of time, I don’t know but I felt watching Gangajal movie featuring Ajay Devgn. For me, I like this series because it has something new on the platter and I learnt a great deal about politics from watching this. The entertainment value of this webseries is good enough to hold you for over 7 hours. My favourite scene is this whole series is, Huma’s character verbal fight with Amol Sail’s character in the Parliament, won my heart.

Directed by Karan Sharma, this webseries has been written and created by Subhash Kapoor. The cinematography has been done by Anup Singh and music composition handled by Mangesh Dhakde. The editing work has been done by Kunal Walve. It has been produced by Naren Kumar and Dimple Kharbanda.

Maharani webseries budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it would reportedly be around 15 to 18 crores maximum.

Altogether, Maharani is one of those webseries that will stick with you for long. As politics is generally ruled by men and here an uneducated woman shaking the might of male egos in Bihar. Huma’s transition from Geeta in Army Of The Dead To Rani Bharti in Maharani are applaud worthy.

Last word: Watch it for Huma Qureshi, Amil Sail, Sohum Shah and many others. Also watch it for its strong story and screenplay.

Bollywood Crazies Ratings: Maharani Webseries Review- Brilliant (80 Percent out of 100).
