Story: The story of this film starts with 2002 where we can see Abhimanyu Singh aka Baba Bajrangi kills hundreds of people for no big reason in Kerala’s town. One boy somehow fled from the scene and takes revenge after years. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the role of Zayed Masood who also plays an important role in this film. The film revolves around a political angle in Kerala’s politics, where a brother Tovino Thomas aka Manju Warrier fights elections against eachother. Who is right and who is wrong is what you need to watch in this film. The whole and soul of this film is Mohanlal aka Stephen Nedumpally aka Abraam Khureshi aka Lucifer. So, who is lucifer is something that you should witness on big screen.

The early reviews of this film is out and they are in a range of 2.5 to 3 stars out of 5 stars from South India. Interestingly, it got around 3 to 3.5 stars from many Bollywood websites. That also means, that L2 Empuraan is being received well by the masses across India.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: The story is simple but the screenplay is complexed. It seems the film is too fast paced at some places, where grasping details wasn’t that easy for me. I can understand that large section of audience may not understand the film in one go. Most of the film dialogues were in English and that is also a disturbing thing for the local masses. I did understand the film but for me too it took time to take a note on details showing on the screens. The writing work is decent but it could have been much better. The film could have been easily trimmed to 15 minutes to make it more engaging. The cinematography is best, especially during action sequences. This film has been shot as per international standards just like we see Hollywood films of 007 or Mission Impossible series. Though, I am not comparing it totally, but still the director has delivered a larger than life film with a budget of as less as 150 crores. It is the costliest Malayalam film ever made. The musical score is good. The entry sequence of Mohanlal sir whistle worthy. The fight sequence in the jungle in the second half is so good. It is one of those films that I loved despite few issues which we can ignored. I still feel, how talented is Prithviraj both as actor and director. I still couldn’t get over with his last film The Goat Life (2024) and now he again made a brilliant attempt here. The emotional depth is missing which is a drawback here. I have seen this movie in Hindi dubbed version and I enjoyed it. The dubbing work is good too. I didn’t felt like watching a Malayalam film, I thought it is yet another Big budgeted Bollywood flick.

Directed by Prithviraj, this film has been written by Murali Gopy. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor and Gokulam Gopalan. The cinematography has been done by Sujith Vaassudev and edited by Akhilesh Mohan. The musical score has been given by Deepak Dev.

L2 Empuraan movie budget is reportedly around 150 crores. As per the latest update, L2 Empuraan is expected to earn around 20 crores nett plus which is also a record day 1 collection. That means, L2 Empuraan will be a big hit despite mixed reviews from South India.

Last Word: Watch it for Mohanlal. Also watch it for the great production design and direction. Spoiler alert, just patiently waiting for Lucifer 3.
