Khaali Peeli movie has finally released on Zee Plex channel along with Zee5 as per video on demand model on October 2, 2020. People can also watch this movie on their respected DTH TV as per VOD. The customer has to pay Rs.299 to watch this film starring Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Pandey. This 1 hour 53 minute movie will remind you of all the 70s, 80s and 90s movie of Amitabh Bachchan.

Even there is a scene, where original Agneepath (1990) movie scene has been played in this film, where kids can be seen watching it on small screen. Khaali Peeli movie has been directed by Maqbool Khan, who did a great job by showing a true color of Mumbai with its story. Right from the locations, dialogues and dressing, everything will give you a feel of Mumbai. Even, there is references of Maratha Mandir cinema in this film where young version of Ishaan aka Blackie aka Vijay sells ticket in black.

The makers didn’t tried anything new in this film and they stick to the basic plot, which is actually worked in their favour. Right from the opening shot of Ishaan to the climax scene of police entering the final scene, everything will make you relive those old cinema days, where police always comes late.

One thing that make me grooving throughout the film is the background musical score given by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara. The editing by Rameshwar Bhagat is pretty catchy and beautiful. The action scenes has been well shot and edited as well. The video camera has been handled by Adil Afsar, who has frame the film classically. It reminds me of the original Sadak (1991) movie, when there is chase sequence in the night at the start of the film, when the two lead actors runs in a black and white Taxi.

Khaali Peeli movie has been written by Yash Kesarwani and Simi Agarwal. The dialogues are worth whistling and tone of the dialogues is typical Mumbai style. Dialogues like ‘Raag Ratan Band Kar’, ‘Kalti Maar Yahaan Se’ etc can be easily connected to the Mumbai cine lovers. Without a delay, I am also surprised with the screenplay of this film, which goes back and forth several times.

Khaali Peeli movie stars Ishaan as Blackie or Vijay Chauhan, Ananya as Pooja, Zakir Hussain as Inspector Tawde, Jaideep Ahlawat as Yusuf Chikna and many others. Annop Sonii and Satish Kaushik’s cameo roles also left the mark in this film. Altogether, it’s Ananya and Ishaan show, who looked great together as a fresh pair on the screen. The songs seems a bit let down but not that bad too, as it is original. The music of this movie has been presented Vishal and Shekhar. This movie has been produced by Himanshu Kishan Mehra, Ali Abbas Zafar and Zee Studios.

The budget of Khaali Peeli hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it would be reportedly around 10 to 12 crores minimum. The early response of this film is mixed to positive from critics but this film will definitely gets a thumbs up from Bollywood lovers. As, it is a typical Bollywood masala film that every fan want to see. This film seems to be the first Bollywood film released on VOD model and so its hard to analyse the collection of this film. Still, the early response from online release is a good one and this film will easily recover its cost.

What if Khaali Peeli movie could released in theaters? Even in that scenario, this film would have recovered the cost and termed as hit. Ishaan Khatter has a great future ahead along with Ananya Pandey.
