Jersey is the latest Hindi film which has officially released in cinema theaters on April 22, 2022. The screen time of this sports drama is around 2 hours 51 minutes. It is the official remake of Telugu film Jersey which released in 2019 and starred Nani.
Story: The story of this film revolves around Shahid Kapoor aka Arjun Talwar who is a former cricket player left the cricket 10 years back. Now, he almost lost his government job and drinks occasionally. He has a son Ronit Kamra aka Karan Talwar who demands him to buy an Indian cricket jersey but he has no money to buy it. So, he thinks of stealing money from his wife Mrunal Thakur aka Vidya Talwar. Well, when Vidya notices this, she yells at him for stopping so low. After loosing so much in life, Arjun decides to get back into Indian Cricket team at the age of 36. Will his dream ever able to come true to play for Indian cricket team is what this story is all about.
Pankaj Kapur aka Madhav Sharma has essayed an important role as Arjun’s cricket coach. This film also stars Geetika Mehandru, Shishir Sharma, Rituraj Singh and many others.
The early reviews of Jersey movie is out now and they are in a range of 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Instead of comparing both Telugu and Hindi films, I feel that both the films have been made brilliantly in their own ways by the same director Gowtam Tinnanuri. The story is nicely written for the Hindi audience and they will like the film for its story. Well, despite of remake, this film has enough fuel to make your heart pump up for this Hindi version. The screenplay is good and there is hardly any low moments despite its screen time of around 3 hours. As I have already seen the original movie, so the surprising factor wasn’t there for me or I would have liked it more. Mrunal Thakur did played a decent role but it was Shahid, Pankaj Kapoor and Ronit that steals my heart. The comedy quotient is less in this film, though it is highly emotional and engaging. If I just talk about Shahid, he come a long way as an actor and he delivers a great role here. The musical score and songs are good. The production value is good and the makers did made a solid Hindi remake. The only thing that could have been done here is cutting down the film for 10 to 15 minutes, it would have been much better. The first half is best and the second half looks a bit slow. Still, its a family film and must watch which is worth for money.

It have been produced by Vamsi, Dil Raju, Aman Gill, and Suryadevara Naga. The cinematography has been done by Anil Mehta and Naveen Nooli. The musical score has been given by Anirudh Ravichander.
Jersey movie budget hasn’t been revealed but it is reportedly around 45 to 47 crores maximum.
Altogether, Jersey is a nicely made film and will surprise audience if they haven’t watched the original one.
