Akshay Kumar has officially confirmed and even reportedly started the shooting of Tamil film Soorarai Pottru (2020) Hindi remake. Akshay Kumar lately posted a news on social media with a confirmation of doing this biographical film which is based on Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey by G. R. Gopinath.
Suriya has played the title role in the original film Soorarai Pottru, where Aparna Balamurali and Paresh Rawal were other lead cast. This film was directed by Sudha Kongara. Interestingly, she is also directing this Hindi remake of this movie.
Akshay Kumar took to social media, “With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it 💫 In case you’ll have any title suggestions, do share and of course your best wishes 🙏🏻.”
The makers didn’t finalised an official Hindi title of this film and even urged the audience to suggest a good title. This film will feature Akshay Kumar in a titular role along with actress Radhika Madan. The film is currently in the nascent stage and more details are awaited.
Soorarai Pottru was released directly on Amazon Prime and become of the biggest OTT hits of 2022. Now, it would be interesting to see whether the Hindi version will released directly on OTT or in theaters.
