After a humongous success of Hungama movie released in 2003, the makers has released its sequel Hungama 2 on July 23, 2021 on Disney Plus Hotstar at around 7.30 pm. The screen time of this comedy drama genre film is around 2 hours 36 minutes. This film is based on Priyadarshan’s own Malayalam film Minnaram which released in 1994.
The story of this film revolves around Paresh Rawal aka Radheshyam Tiwari who mostly suspects his wife Shilpa Shetty aka Anjali. Radheshyam even placed a camera outside his house, to find out who enters his house when he is not around. Now, Anjali is a close friend of Meezaan Jaffery aka Aakash Kapoor and they share a good bond.
Well, one fine day, Aakash get into a big trouble where his ex-girlfriend Pranitha Subhash aka Naina suddenly enters his house with a kid claiming that he is the father. Aakash, who is already engaged to someone else, now finds it hard to convince his father Ashutosh Rana that is not the father of the child. To solve this problem, Aakash often meets his friend Anjali and discuss about it. On the other hand, Radheshyam sees his wife Anjali and Aakash together and suspect that they are in love. Now, Aakash is in big trouble from every side. Even, Radheshyam thinks that Aakash is a bad boy.
Here, Manoj Joshi aka Mr Bajaj is an old friend of Ashutosh Rana and that’s why he agreed to give her daughter’s hand to Aakash for marriage. Now, what will happen if Mr Bajaj got to know that Aakash is reportedly married to Vaani and even has a kid. Though, we all know, Aakash is not married who will believe him. What will Aakash do to solve his problems is both interesting and hilarious. This film also features Johny Lever aka Gagan Chandra D’cousta, Tiku Talsania and Rajpal Yadav aka Popat. Akshaye Khanna’s cameo appearance did remind us of his brilliant role in Hungama.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Hungama 2 is full on fun and lots of hilarious moment. It looks like director Priyadarshan has again got into form and gave us a good film that actually reminds us of a somewhat about Hungama (2003). Making a situational comedy is a difficult task but Priyadarshan has managed it well. In such tough times of Lockdown, Priyadarshan has given us something that is not at all vulgar and can be watched with the family. Meezaan and Pranitha have played their role very well and you would definitely love them together. Paresh Rawal is the whole and soul of this comedy film. The production value of this film is high and its too entertaining in the first half. The second half is not up to the mark. The story has been written decently and the screenplay made it more engaging. If you are comparing this movie to its previous one Hungama, than it is no where near to it. Still, it’s a worth watchable movie.
Hungama 2 movie has been written and directed by Priyadarshan, who also helmed Hungama in 2003. This film has been produced by Venus Worldwide Entertainment. The cinematography of this movie has been done by N K Ekambaram and the editing work done by M S Aiyyappan Nair. The musical score has been given by Ronnie Raphael and songs by Anu Malik.
Hungama 2 movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it would reportedly be around 32 to 35 Crores maximum.
Altogether, Hungama 2 is an entertaining film that you can easily watch with your family.
Last word: Watch it for the hilarious story, location, performances and direction.
