Sunny Deol was the main lead of Gadar movie when it released on June 15, 2001 and it was turned out to be a blockbuster. After 20 years, the director has once again decided to make Gadar 2 which will follow the same starcast.

In the original film Sunny Deol’s child role has been played by Utkarsh Sharma. Now, Utkarsh is all grown up and he will play the lead along with Sunny. Ameesha Patel will again reprise the role of Sakina in this movie. In the earlier film, Sunny enters Pakistan to bring Ameesha back. In this film, Utkarsh will be stuck in Pakistan and Sunny will again bring back his son from the neighbour land.

Sunny Deol took to social media to announced this film officially. He wrote, “After two decades the wait is finally over! On the auspicious day of Dusshera, Presenting to you the motion poster of #Gadar2. The Katha Continues..”

Director Anil Sharma also wrote, “And the Katha Continues….. After two decades the biggest blockbuster ever in the Indian Cinema is all set to unfold a new chapter. #Gadar 2.”

This film will be backed by Zee Studios and Anil Sharma Productions. This film has been written by Shaktimaan and the musical score has been given by Mithoon. The makers are planning to start the shooting of Gadar 2 by December 2021 and wants to release this film in the second half of 2022.

This will be Sunny Deol next big action film after Ghayal Once Again which release in 2016. Utkarsh launched with Genius movie in 2018 but it turned out to be a disaster at box office and it will be his second film as a main lead.
