Freddy is the latest Hindi release which has officially released online on Disney Plus Hotstar on December 2, 2022. The watch time of this crime drama film is around 2 hours 4 minutes.
Story: Kartik Aaryan essays the role of a dentist Freddy Ginwala, who is lonesome and wants to get married. He don’t have a family left to care for him, just an old lady who cares for him. Despite several attempts, Freddy didn’t got the match he want to get married. One fine day, he sees Alaya F aka Kainaaz in one of the parties. Well, he got to know that Kainaaz is married with an abusive husband. Soon, Freddy falls in love with her and stacks her. Over the weeks, we see Freddy and Kainaaz both get attached to eachother. Well, if you think what if Kainaaz husband knows about them. Will, Freddy get the love he wants. Well, there are some interesting turns of events happens throughout the film and you will understand that Freddy is really not a normal guy.
This film also features Tripti Agarwal, Jeniffer Piccinato and many others.
The early reviews of Freddy movie is out now and they are in a range of 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. Freddy movie currently holds 8.7 stars ratings out of 10 stars on IMDB website, which is pretty good.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: I like the screenplay and the realistic approach by the makers. Before starting on the film, I must appreciate the effort by Kartik given for this film. It wasn’t an easy role and he did it with ease. There is a scene in the second half, where police investigates injured Freddy. The moment, the police left his home, we see Freddy smiling in an surprising way. You can see, his face and you will understand that no better than Kartik could essay this role. Well, the story is good and the makers kept the flow going in a normal way. I had a big question in mind before watching this film, Can Alaya act? My answer is yes, she really played her role in a way that suits the character. Not the best film at all, but certainly the film’s heart was at the right place. The story is good and the presentation is equally passable. In the first half only, we see a major twist and we thought, the movie is simple and will end soon. Well, the movie is not at all simple and has a lot of twist. The last 15 minutes were the most scary part and I have no words to explain the ordeal that has been shown in the end. So, the message of this film is, say sorry if you have done a mistake. Or else, you have to pay a heavy price for it. The production value is good and the movie is very much on point. There are less than 10 characters in this film, which include To tortoise named Hardy. The background music is good and I am happy that the film ends on the time before we stars yawning. We must commend the director for making this film realistic than melodramatic. Not an easy role for Kartik but he did best here. There is a song in the middle and probably in the end.
Freddy movie has been directed by Shashanka Ghosh. It has been written by Parveez Sheikh. It have been produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Jay Shewakramani, and Gaurav Bose. The musical score has been given by Pritam and the editing work done by Chandan Arora. The cinematography has been nailed by Ayananka Bose.
Freddy movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly being around 28 to 30 crores maximum.
Altogether, Freddy is definitely a must watch film for the cinegoers. You can learn a lot from Kartik Aaryan’s acting.
Last Word: Watch it for Kartik’s amazing performance and the direction. Must appreciate the efforts by Alaya F for her acting. I don’t know but after watching Freddy, I remember a film A Clockwork Orange (1971) by Stanley Kubrick, mainly because of last 15 minutes.
