Dybbuk is the latest Hindi film which has released on Amazon Prime OTT platform on October 29, 2021. The watch time of this film horror film is around 1 hour 52 minutes. This is an official remake of Malayalam film Ezra which released in 2017.
Story: The story of this film revolves around a newly married couple who reaches Mauritius, as Emraan Hashmi aka Sam has got a new job there. Now, his wife Nikita Dutta aka Mahi brings a 500 years-old Jewish box called as Dybbuk in the house. Mahi, who had been through miscarriage, starts acting strangely due to the presence of Dybbuk box. Now, Sam took the help of a Father from a Church to solve this problem. What will Sam do to safeguard her possessed wife from Dybbuk is what the story follows.

This film also stars Darshana Banik, Pranay Ranjan, Manav Kaul, Yuri Suri, Denzil Smith, Vipin Sharma, Ivan Sylvester Rodrigues and many others in character roles.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: The movie starts on a high note and then it goes slow while telling the story of the couple who just landed in Mauritius. Post 30 minutes, things get scarier with every passing minute. I personally think that this film has a right kind of scary element which will haunt the audience if they every try to watch this film alone. The backdrop of a lavish home and the darkness around it is a perfect backdrop for this horror flick. Unlike other films where we see scary scenes only in the end but this film starts shocking you in the first half itself. The VFX are quite good and the background music adds much needed tensions in the scenes. I am impressed that the film didn’t stretched up over 2 hours with lot of unnecessary scenes and songs in it. This film is right on the point and scare you in the most disturbing way. Emraan did delivered his one of the best acting skills in this film. Most of the Hindi horror films fails to scare you but this one is totally different. The only negative thing I feel is low emotion quotient in this film.
This film has been written and directed by Jay K, who has also helmed the original Ezra movie. It have been backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak. The musical score has been given by Amar Mohile and the editing work handled by Sandeep Francis. The cinematography of this film has been done by Satya Ponmar.
Dybbuk movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly be in a range of 10 to 12 crores maximum.
Altogether, Dybbuk is a scary film that hits on the right note in terms of horror genre. It is a well made horror flicks that works in many ways.
