Dhamaka is the latest Hindi film which has officially got released on OTT platform Netflix on November 19, 2021. The watch time of this thriller drama film is around 1 hour 44 minutes. This film is an official Hindi remake of South Korean film The Terror Live (2013).
Story: The story of this film revolves around Kartik Aaryan aka Arjun Pathak, who is an ex-news anchor on TRTV Bharosha News Channel. Now, he is demoted to as Radio News Channel anchor but works in the same company. One fine day, during a live radio show, he gets a random call and threat to blast a Mumbai Bridge. Well, Arjun takes him as a joke but the latter one did blast the bridge. Rather than calling to Mumbai Police after the blast, Arjun thinks to reshape his journalistic career with this exclusive breaking news. Well, people’s death is just a breaking news is what this film explores in a big way. Here, Arjun’s wife Mrunal Thakur aka Soumya Mehra Pathak also works as a reporter in the same news channel. Well, this random caller puts even Soumya’s life into risk. Will, Arjun able to save his wife or the people stuck on the bridge is what this story is all about.
This film also stars Soham Majumdar aka Raghubeer Mhata, Amruta Subhash aka Ankita Malaskar as Arjun’s boss, Vishwajeet Pradhan aka Subhash Mathur, Vikas Kumar aka Praveen Kamath, Aishwarya Chaudhary aka Mala, Anuj Gurwara aka Manas Sethi, Priya Tandon aka Kripa Ved in character roles.

The early reviews of this film is out and many have rated this film in a range of 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. The interesting thing about this film is, few critics have liked this film in a big way and few didn’t liked it and even termed it as an average. Still, Dhamaka movie currently holds 9.8 stars out of 10 on IMDB.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: The first half of this film sets a strong pace in the beginning but looses a bit till the interval. The second half is so full of surprise that you feel trapped in Arjun’s world. Thank God! I haven’t seen the original version otherwise my opinion would have been a bit different. The director has done a fabulous job here for holding this film from start to end and even making it entertaining. The hazy camera angles, realistic backdrop and few good VFX shots have done a great work together to give a depth to the story. Talking about the performance, Kartik and Amruta Subhash have impressed me. This film will surely help to shape up the career of Kartik in an ascending order. It’s good that the makers didn’t made it melodramatic by putting unnecessary songs. The background music adds much impact to this story. The writing is superb and we need to applaud for the writers.
Dhamaka movie has been directed by Ram Madhvani. The screenplay and dialogues have been written by Puneet Sharma and Ram Madhvani. This film have been produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Amita Madhvani and Ram. The cinematography has been done by Manu Anand. The musical score have been given by Vishal Khurana and Prateek Kuhad. Monisha Baldawa and Amit Karia were the editors.
Dhamaka movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly be around 6 to 8 crores maximum.
Altogether, Dhamaka is a one time watch film for its unique story plot and its hard-hitting screenplay.
Last Word: Kartik Aaryan surprised me along with its story. Amruta Subhash deserves applause for her role.
