Voot Select OTT platform has released their latest webseries Crackdown on September 23, 2020. It consists of 8 episodes with a total screen time of 4 hours 11 minutes. Each episodes runtime is around 29 to 31 minutes.

Saqib Saleem essayed the role or Riyaaz Pathan aka RP, who is one of the offerers of Director Of Operations (DO), which is a secret unit of RAW. In one of the fights with terrorists, DO members shot down four terrorists but they did get shock to see a burqa clad woman Maryam. She tried to escape but died after falling from the roof. Later, members of DO found that her face is similar to a girl name Divya, whose role essayed by Shriya Pilgaonkar. The DO trained Divya to turn into Maryam as they wanted to honey trap the terrorists leader Hamid to come out. What happens next falls the rest of the story. There is a character name Zorawar, who wants to head as RAW Chief, in this web series whose role looks too much suspicious from the start to end. Zorawar’s wife role has been essayed by Waluscha Desousa, and her role is worth applauding.
So, in this webseries you really don’t know who is working for Indian Intelligence and who is double crossing the team by providing information to the Pakistan’s counterpart.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, this webseries has been written by Chintan Gandhi and Suresh Nair. This series has been produced by Apoorva along with Sameer Shaikh. There are some beautiful shots filmed by Fasahat Khan.
The webseries didn’t impress us in the first few episodes but sooner we get into the world of RP and we loved it. This series has been ended on a cliffhanger and that means we will see more blast in the second season. It is not a big webseries with big Starcast but still it will make you at the edge of your seat. The soul of this web series seems missing in the first few episodes but it ended on a bumper note.
The budget of Crackdown Webseries hasn’t been revealed but it would be reportedly around 1 to 2 crores easily for per episodes. Inspite of some issues with this webseries, you will appreciate the efforts of Saqib Saleem.
By looking at the early reviews from critics, they have rated this webseries around 2.5 to 3 stars out of 5. It got 8 stars out of 10 on IMDB. The series looks good and it has a full potential for a second season.
Last word: watch it for the story, you will like it. Watch it for fresh pair of Shriya and Saqib, they won’t let you down. Also watch it if you like Saqib’s 6 packs abs!
