Bhoothakaalam is the latest Malayalam film which has released on OTT Platform SonyLIV on January 21, 2022. This screen time of this horror film is around 1 hour 45 minutes.
Story: The story of this film revolves around Shane Nigam aka Vinu and his mother Revathi. Soon, we see Vinu’s grand mother passes in the rented house. This disturbed both Vinu and his mother to some extent. Revathi’s character has a disturbing past and she is the only breadwinner of the house and very protective of his grown up son. Vinu gets job offers but his mother decline as that place of job was far away from their town. She wants Vinu to have a job in the town but he couldn’t find any. Soon, Vinu experience some supernatural stuff in the house and he first thinks that it was done by his mother. Later, we see Vinu and his mother both experiencing supernatural things in the haunted house. Both, Vinu and his mother gets into depression and have an anxiety and other issues. Will, Vinu and his mother gets alive of this haunted house is what this story is all about. This film also star Saiju Kurup aka George in a titular role.

Bhoothakaalam movie early reviews are out now and they are highly praiseworthy in a range of 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. This film currently holds 8.9 stars out of 10 stars on IMDB.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Bhoothakaalam is one those horror films that stick to its roots and gives some really shocking experience. I personally feel, the director’s message through this film was more about people’s mental health nowadays. The director has told the trauma of a mother and also the problem of today’s youth of not able to get a proper job despite having talents. This film is very emotional and realistic to the topic. This a slow burning film which exploded in the end. Thank God, the director has given some sort of happy ending to this tragic film. Talking about the performance, both Shane and Revathi have played their role brilliantly. The cinematography is good and there are some scenes that felt really good. The aerial shots of Kerala’s Metro train look beautiful in the frames. There is only one song in this film and it has been beautifully filmed. Bhoothakaalam movie majorly depicts that how some painful past events of the life stays with you in your present and may continue with you to the future. The story is strongly written and the screenplay is perfectly in the flow. In sort, a good horror film for the masses.

Bhoothakaalam movie budget hasn’t been revealed yet but it could be reportedly around 4 to 5 crores maximum.
Altogether, Bhoothakaalam is one of the best Horror film that is a worthy film for its genre.
