Atrangi Re is the latest Hindi and Tamil language film which has released on OTT platform DisneyPlusHotstar on December 24, 2021. The watch time of this romantic drama film is around 2 hours 17 minutes. The Tamil dubbed version of this film has been titled as Galatta Kalyanam. This is the second film of Dhanush with the director Aanand L Rai after Raanjhanaa (2013).
Story: The story of this film revolves around three principal characters Sara Ali Khan aka Rinku, Akshay Kumar aka Sajjad Ali and Dhanush aka Vishu. So, Rinku is in love with Sajjad and to marry him she fled almost 21 times in 7 years from her home. Every time, her family members get a hold of Rinku where ever she elopes. It has been seen that, Rinku and Vishu were forcibly married by former’s family members. Now, the twist in the tale is Vishu, who is a medical student about to marry Dimple Hayathi aka Mandy in few days but now he had been forcibly married to Rinku. Will, Vishu able to marry Mandy after this new trouble. On the other hand, will Rinku able to marry Sajjad. Or, What happens with Vishu and Rinku’s life follows the rest of the story

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: The story starts with a bang but goes with simple and steady way. Till the interval, we almost get the story and we know what could happen next. Sara’s character of Rinku was full of energy and gracefulness. Dhanush’s character Vishu reminds me of his brilliant performance in Raanjhanaa. Even, Akshay Kumar is full of surprise package in this film as a magician. The story is completely different and the makers did try something new this time which really makes it work for us. The mixture of north and south in this film is quite colorful and entertaining. Again let me remind you, all the three have got very difficult roles to play and yes they did given their best and we are impressed. The story is interesting in the first half but has few issues in the second half. The first half is smooth and you feel entertained but the second half is a big slow and lethargic at points. The production value is good and the visuals give meaning to this unique plot. Another highlight of this film is the music and songs by A R Rahman. The screen time could have been cut shorter for another 15 to 20 minutes could have been much better for this film. Talking about the direction, the makers did try to pull of a difficult film and they have somehow able to entertain the audience and made it a decent film.

The cinematography has been done by Pankaj Kumar and this film story has been written by Himanshu Sharma. The editing work handled by Hemal Kothari.
Atrangi Re movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly be around 40 to 45 crores maximum.
Altogether, Atrangi Re is a totally unique film that works in bits and parts for us. Audience will surely love it but it is just a one time watch.
Last Word: Watch it for the trio Rinku, Vishu and Sajjad. Akshay Kumar is the soul of this film and he brings a lot of freshness in this difficult story.
