Actress Anila Kharbanda, who is earlier seen in shows like Aladin, Shaadi Ke Siyappe, Naagkanya, Vighnaharta Shree Ganesha among others in important roles, is all set for her Television debut as a lead with Mera Desh Bulaye Re to be aired on DD Kisan from January 4th, 2021 onwards. The show is based on the farmers and their problems in which Anila will be seen playing the lead role of Mansi/Maisy.

Talking about how she bagged the show, she says, “I was in talking terms with Amit for almost an year for the same show, but had no clue as to what character would I be casted for. I used to keep flooding his phone with my updated auditions. Towards the end of last month, I received a call from the director that I’ve been selected for Mansi and then I knew it was a lead character. I was thrilled because I knew this has to be the start to a new great beginning.”

Spilling the beans about her role, Anila tells, “I play the role of Mansi/Maisy, an NRI character, whose father owns a fertiliser company in America. She hasn’t seen her mother and been raised by an American lady. She comes to India with her BF after 15 years to enjoy the experience, where she discovers the actual situations of the farmers. Also, she understands the family bonds and emotions. It’s a beautiful character that I could connect with completely.”

Talking further on her journey, she adds, “It has been just a stepping stone to my growth ladder. I have groomed a lot, be it my looks or my performance. Everyday has been a learning experience and from hereon, I only see myself never looking back and grabbing great opportunities. I feel, no work for me is small or big. I have been working hard every since, never did I think I would pursue acting as my career. As styling and designing has been my forte, but I shall give my best shot in all endeavours I will be part of.”

Mera Desh Bulaye Re is helmed by director Ram Tiwari and produced by Amit Kapoor and Aamna Sharif under their production house Cynozure Networkz.
