Eros Now has released their latest web short film Unkahee on September 26, 2020 and its screentime is around just 41 minutes. Let me be pretty clear, it is one of the most interesting crime thriller short film in the limited time span. The makers has made sure to give you something new on the lines of 12 Angry Men and The Tashkent Files.

The story is like, Encounter Specialist Shergill played by Ashoke Pandit, captured 6 suspects from Delhi and kept them in an underground place. It’s been shown that Delhi has witnessed 11 female crimes from 2017 to 2019, where the killer left a play card as a hint for police. Still after a year, police couldn’t able to solve the case and Shergill promises that the case will be solved in next 12 hours. So, Shergill tells the 6 suspects that you yourself solve the crime, as one of you is behind these serious pattern killing. So 6 suspects sitting in a round table and questioning each other. What happens next follows the rest of the story.
Unkahee stars Hiten Tejwani, Anupriya Goenka, Ashwin Musran, Sehban Azim, Ravi Khemu, Ayushmaan Saxena and Ashoke Pandit. This web film has been written and directed by Anushree Mehta. It has been produced by Priti Rathi Gupta from Ishka Films. This web short is edited by Sandip Kurup and the camera lenses handled by A Vasanth.
Talking about the whole web short film, the story is the hero of this film. One thing I was expecting that the makers should have used is time ticking at the right or left side of the screen. As they said that you have just 12 hours to solve the crime. It would have much better if they had showed 8 hours left or 4 hours left or 2 hours left, this type of time ticking clock on the screen.
Budget of Unkahee hasn’t been revealed by makers but still it is a great attempt. It will definitely create some buzz in the online space for its interesting story.
Anyways, I liked the effort given by the makers to make such a beautiful web short. But, I am definitely more impressed with Eros Now last release Halahal featuring Sachin Khedekar and Varun Sobti.
Last word: Watch it if you liked The Tashkent Files and 12 Angry Men. Also watch it for Hiten Tejwani and the director.
