Bollywood filmmakers are very smart and they really know what audience wants to watch. There are few Bollywood movies where the directors and producers have tricked us with their main lead heroes. They take big stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan in their films but unfortunately, they are not the main lead actors of the films.

Recently released film Jai Gangajaal 2 is a perfect example of it. At first, we thought that it was Priyanka Chopra who is the main star of the movie but interestingly it was Prakash Jha himself, who plays the main lead actor in the movie. So, we have ensemble 5 Bollywood movies that have fooled us with their main lead actors.
- Shah Rukh Khan in Josh
Main Hero: Chandrachur Singh
Even though SRK’s role as a Max was humongous popular from Josh movie but the actual hero of the movie was Chandrachur Singh. He got a meatier role in the movie which was bigger than Shah Rukh Khan’s role. Though makers have promoted the movie on the name of SRK but Chandrachur was the main hero of the film. Even the climax justifies that Chandrachur saves SRK from being in the jail.
- Salman Khan in Phir Milenge
Main Hero: Shilpa Shetty and Abhishek Bachchan
Salman Khan’s Phir Milenge is one of his best films in terms of performance. Though, he wasn’t the main lead actor in the movie. You can consider his role as an extended cameo type and most of the screen space has been given to Shilpa Shetty and Abhishek Bachchan. Though, for the promotional purpose, the makers have highlighted Salman instead of their main leads.
- Ranbir Kapoor in Roy
Main Hero: Arjun Rampal
Roy is one of the most unconventional movies that is hard to understand. In this film, Ranbir has a role more of like an extended one as the real hero of the film was Arjun Rampal. Though the film was being marketed by putting a trigger on Ranbir’s shoulder. None the less, the film has been a flop affair.
- Abhishek Bachchan in Dum Maaro Dum
Main Hero: Rana Daggubati
This is one of the best performances of Abhishek Bachchan but before the climax itself, he was taken off from the narrative by showing him dead. It was than Rana Daggubati got a hold of the main lead and does his duty. So again, the makers have fooled us as the main hero in the film was Rana rather than Abhishek.
- Saif Ali Khan in Go Goa Gone
Main Hero: Kunal Kemmu, Vir Das, and Anand Tewari
This is the first ever zombie movie made in Bollywood. It stars Saif Ali Khan as a zombie killer who saves the life of Kunal Kemmu, Vir Das and Anand Tewari in the movie. Even though he has played his role brilliantly as a half-Russian and half-Delhi based gangster but the main lead actors were Kunal, Vir Das, and Anand Tewari.
