Story: The story of this film revolves around Leonilla Dsouza aka Deeksha, who is a mute girl, and her husband Yuvan Hariharan aka Yuvan. So, Deeksha moves to her ancestral place along with Yuvan. As soon as Deeksha enters the old palatial bunglow, she starts experiencing paranormal activities. There is also an old clock in this bunglow, which is the center of attraction for all the wrong reasons. These supernatural activities turns both of their life upside down. Is there really a ghost in the house or what else? Will Deeksha and Yuvan life get back to normal again! This is what you need to find out yourself by witnessing this film on silver screens.

This film also stars actors like Kamal Kumar Ghimiray, Abhinava Kiran, Prithal Uday Pawar and many others.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: The story of this film is good and has been presented in a decent way on screen. Right from the first scene, you will be absorb into the story and your focus will be on Deeksha and the Clock. She played her role really well as being a mute person is not so easy on the screens. She is well supported by Yuvan. Mostly the film is focused on Deeksha’s character and her reaction explains the mystery of this house. Without further revealing the story, I must appreciate the director Girideva Raaj who will keep you hooked till the end of the film with some major twist and turns. The ending will surprise you and leave you wanting for more. The background music adds more meaning to the story, especially during the night scenes. Visually, I find the film captivating, especially in the first 30 minutes, where the story is getting build up. My favourite shot of the film is in the starting, where the aerial shot has been taken from the sky to show the bunglow amidst in the greenlands full of coconut trees. The production value of this film is really good despite low budget. There are few clichés in this film especially in the start of second half, rest I find this film interesting. The best part of this film is the start and the end. It is a visual spectacle that you must watch in cinema. As it is director’s second film, so I am really amazed to see his technical brilliance. He has a good scope and bright future ahead. As, what he has shown is this movie is better than some of the crap films which we seen in 2022. It is a dark film and the only time you will feel a bit relaxed when there is one song that comes in the second half to appease you to some extent. The film could have been much better story wise and visually if it had more budget to it, still a good cinema that you can vouch for. Lastly, the editing is decent but could have been much better.

Overall, The Y is one of those films that reminds you of a true-blue horror films of Hollywood. I feel that, Horror cinema hasn’t been explored well in India but this film gives us a hope in this genre.

The Y movie has been written and directed by Girideva Raaj. It have been produced by Madhu G M, Dr. Ajith Ramaswamy. The cinematography has been done by Karthik Mallur and the editing work handled by Vinod Basavaraj. The background score has been given by Christopher Jayson.

Last Word: Watch it for its story, direction and Deeksha.
