Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story is the latest release web series which released on November 12, 2021 on OTT Platform Disney+ Hotstar. It is the prequel version of Special Ops which released in March 17, 2020 and turned out to be a big hit. There are a total of 4 episodes with each having a screen time of around 45 to 50 minutes with an overall screen time of 2 hours 53 minutes.
Story: Earlier we have seen Kay Kay Menon aka Himmat Singh as Research and Analysis Wing officer (RAW) in Special Ops. Here’s the story focuses on who is this Himmat Singh and what are his back story before he made it big. That simply means, this series focuses on his past life and services. In this series we can see, a friend of Himmat, Vinay Pathak aka Sub Inspector Abbas Sheikh, Delhi Police was being called by an Intelligence agency officers to know more about Himmat Singh. So, Abbas is telling the story to the agency officials, that how Himmat Singh completed some of the most difficult tasks for Indian Government in the past. Well, here Aftab Shivdasani aka Vijay Kumar also can be seen as Kay Kay’s friend and an intelligence officer. So, the story revolves around how some foreign countries are spying on Indian government employees and honey-trapping them to get some confidential files and information about Indian Government. Will, Himmat Singh able to solve such difficult cases is what this story is all about.

Special Ops 1.5 web series has garnered mostly positive reviews from critics and it got a rating in a range of 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. Meanwhile, Special Ops 1.5 has received 9.1 stars ratings out of 10 stars on IMDB.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Special Ops 1.5 is a fast paced crime thriller on the level of Baby (2014) by director Neeraj Pandey. Kay Kay Menon looks young in this series and he did that convincingly. The other characters that people will like in this series are Aishwarya Sushmita, Aadil Khan,Aftab Shivdasani and Vinay Pathak. All of them have given their best roles which suits to the story. The writing is good but somehow the screenplay is so fast that you take time to understand things. If you haven’t watch the first Special Ops series, you will hardly understand anything in it. This series has been shot beautifully in many international locations. The editing is quite crisp along with decent background music. There are hardly any low moments in this series. This is an avant-garde spy series that will be loved by Indian fans.

Special Ops 1.5 web series budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly be around 18 to 20 crores maximum.
Altogether, Special Ops 1.5 ended on a cliff hanger and we know that the Special Ops 2.0 is surely coming soon.
