Pakistan Court Lifts Ban On Indian Television Shows

Since September 2016, Indian Television Content and Films were being banned in Pakistan. The reason behind was, Pakistani Artists were sent back to Pakistan from India, due to URI attack happened in Jammu and Kashmir on September 18. This terrorist incident has broken several ties between the countries and its early impact was faced by entertainment world. At the latest, Lahore High Court has lifted the ban on Indian Television Shows in Pakistan.

In February 2017, Pakistan has lifted the ban on Indian movies and now they have completely lifted a ban on Indian Television content as well. Lahore High Court Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said, Objectionable content could easily be censored and there is no need for a complete ban.

There was also an argument that if Indian films are being shown openly in Pakistani theaters than why there is a ban on Indian films or TV serials on Television. Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) was the one who imposed the ban but now it is lifted.

Things have been improved a lot in between both the countries in terms of entertainment related issues. Even, Indian films again started taking Pakistani artists. The latest release Mom film is a notable example of it, which stars two Pakistani artists Sejal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui in titular roles.

Now, Indian films are getting good responses in Pakistan as well, right from Baahubali 2, Mom and the latest release Jagga Jasoos. All have performed well in the neighbouring land.

Altogether, Indian TV shows will be aired for Pakistani audience without any restrictions.
