Akshay Kumar, who was last seen in Toilet Ek Prem Katha, is back with yet another social film Padman. A few days back, there were hardly any big promotions for Padman. But, the producer of this film Twinkle Khanna has started a Padman Challange, where she held a sanitary pad and clicked a picture. After that, the Padman challenge was accepted by Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and almost every Bollywood celebrity. Even the commoners now posting a picture with a pad on their social media profile.

I mentioned this, just to tell you that there is now immense buzz for Padman due to this unique promotional strategy. That’s what I call it cost-free promotion with a social message in it. Now, back on the budget, it is a movie made with around 25 crores budget and another 5-10 crores spent on promotions. So the overall budget is below 35 crores.

Earlier, Padman was about to clash with Aiyaary and Padmaavat, which will enter in its third week. But now, Aiyaary is being delayed until February 16, 2018. So, in such a scenario, Padman will get a good number of screens. Maybe 2800 to 3000 screen count is a good thing for the movie. In this way. Padman will earn 14 to 15 crores easily on the first day. Even, the advance booking report is outstanding and that confirms that it will be over 15 crores on the first day.

Directed by R Balki, Padman stars Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in key roles. It is slated to hit the theaters on February 9, 2018.
