Akshay Kumar starring Padman has maintained its position strongly at the box office, even in the second week. There was a drop in the collections on day 8, where it has earned 2.10 crores but there is a growth of over 30 percent in the collections on Day 9.

Padman has collected 62.87 crores in the first week in India, where it was released in 2750 screens. It has collected 22.50 crores in the overseas market in the first week. It has earned over 3 crores on day 9, which takes the total over 68 crores.

Unfortunately, this week release Aiyaary fails to perform better at the box office, due to which Padman stays strong in Indian box office. Made with over 20 crores budget, Padman is a critically acclaimed film. Lately, Rajasthan state government has made this film tax free, which is a good thing for this film.

Padman is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who is also referred as Pad Man of India. This film has been based on his life and struggles for making Sanitary pads for village women.

Directed by R Balki, this film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Radhika Apte and Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo role. Altogether, Padman can cross 85 crores lifetime, if this film goes with the same collection flow in the second week.
