Karnan is the latest release Tamil film that hit the silver screens on April 9, 2021. The screentime of this movie is around 2 hours 39 minutes. This film currently holds 94 percent ratings on BookMyShow from the early audience response.

The story of this film talks about a fictional village set in Tamil Nadu in 1997 where Dhanush aka Karnan resides. He is fearless youth who always fight for the rights of an individual. Now, he must fight for the rights of his village people who have conservative mindset. The class divide and fighting for own rights have been well showed in this film. Karnan can be seen angry at many times during the film and he must fight against all odds to come out as victorious. Despite he is right, things still never change for him until he takes a different route to prove his point.
Karnan movie also stars Lal Paul, Natarajan Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, Rajisha Vijayan, Gouri G Kishan, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli and many more.
As per early social media response and media news portal ratings, Karnan get a star rating in a range of 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Karnan film will remind you of his previous work Asuran which released in 2019. The best thing about Dhanush is he fits in any role with an ease and he has a common yet starry look like late Superstar Rajesh Khanna. I am saying this because, it’s easy to relate to such characters. My favourite scene was when, Karnan freed the donkey and took charge to fight with Bus driver and conductor. As they never stop their bus for this village people. Karnan internal anger can be easy seen when he was breaking the glass of a bus. In the next few frames, you can easily see the donkey is free and running, which also symbolises the freedom of Karnan character. I also liked the performance of Yogi Babu in this film, who earlier surprised us with his performance in Mandela (2021) movie. This movie has been well written and directed. A painful story based film that you need to watch, it is available in Tamil version.
Karnan movie has been written and directed by Mari Selvaraj. It has been produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu. The cinematography of this film has been done by Theni Eswar. The musical score has been given by Santhosh Narayanan and editing work has been done by Selva R K.
Karan movie budget hasn’t been officially revealed but it could reportedly be around 45 to 50 crores maximum. The screencount of this movie has been reportedly around 600 screens in Tamil Nadu. Karnan has opened with a good note in theaters but the problem is, there is 50 percent occupancy Cap for theaters from April 10, which may reduce its collections.
Altogether, Karnan is a classy tale of class divide and issues faced by villages in remote areas. Dhanush again proved that he can fit in almost all roles.
