A new forest officer arrives Kishore Kumar G and he warns villagers to leave the encroached land of forest which belongs to the forest area. Forest officer even warns the villagers that this forest is not your property that you cut trees, hunt wild animals or even lit fire crackers. Seeing the menace of the forest officer, Shiva is furious and wants to face off with the officer at any cost. So, the ego tussle goes on between Shiva and forest officer, who will win at the end is the twist you need to watch it. Will, Shiva able to bring peace into the village is also important thing to look forward into this film. This film also stars Sapthami Gowda aka Leela, who is rookie doing a job in Forest department and she is also the love interest of Shiva. The story also highlighted the Kambala race, Bhootha Kola, Kundapura dance of rural Karnataka.

This film also stars Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty and many others. The early reviews of Kantara movie is out and they are highly positive across India in a range of 3.5

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: The story is strong and the screenplay has justified it well in 2 hours 50 minutes. The cinematography and background music are the plus point of this movie. This film is rooted in Karnataka’s culture and we all are proud of it. The detailing in every frame and scene makes this film a worthy watch for cinema lovers. I loved watching Kambala race at the start which is a difficult task to perform for Rishab. The mud fight also look interesting at the start of this movie. The look of Shiva and his character reminds me something like Allu Arjun’s character of Pushpa. Even the forest officer role of Kishore seems to be inspired from Bhanwar Singh role played by Fahahd Faasil. Except these few similarities, both films are totally different. Performance wise, Rishab has done one of his best role in this movie. There is enough research which makes this film a meaning masala entertainer. The story seems predictable but it’s the presentation which is the icing on the cake. The visuals are so rich and beautiful that I couldn’t able to keep my eyes away. The rootedness of this film is what makes this film appealing and engaging. Good marks scored by the editor as none of the scenes where stretched. The people watching the movie with me in the theaters were enjoying through out and that’s only possible when you had made something good for the masses to look for. Such films are not just unique but also culturally embedded. My favourite scene is the first time where Shiva witnessed someone in the jungle and ran like cats and dogs to his friends in the first half. The first half is the story plotting but it’s the second half which is near perfection.

This film has been written, directed and acted by Rishab Shetty. It is being produced by Vijay Kiragandur. The musical score has been given by B Ajaneesh Loknath. The cinematography done by Arvind Kashyap. The editing work have been done by KM Prakash and Pratheek Shetty.

Kantara movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly being around 18 to 20 crores maximum.

Altogether, Kantara is a visual spectacle that revolves around Karnataka’s rural culture added with thriller element.

Last Word: Kantara is a must watch for Kishore and Rishab Shetty. Also watch it for such great story and good production value.

Bollywood Crazies Ratings: Kantara Review- Brilliant (80 percent out of 100).
